• Account information — your name, email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile name and photo.
• Profile details — optional location, phone number, and profile photo you choose to add.
• Content you create — listings, photos, and messages sent to other users.
• Technical data — basic logs needed to operate and secure the service.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and display your listings;
• To enable messaging between buyers and sellers;
• To moderate content and keep the marketplace safe (automated text and image checks);
• To respond to your support requests.

3. What we show to other users

Your public seller identity (name and profile photo) is visible on your listings and in conversations. Your phone number and precise location are private and are not shown to other users through our public profile data.

4. Passwords & security

Passwords are stored hashed (bcrypt) and never in plain text. Sign-in sessions are protected with secure, http-only cookies. Google sign-ins are verified server-side.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with service providers that help us operate the platform (for example, image-moderation and email delivery), and where required by law.

6. Your choices

You can edit or delete your listings, update your profile, and request deletion of your account by contacting us. You can also decline non-essential cookies (see our Cookie Policy).

7. Children

Drop Your Item is not intended for people under 18.
